About the Class:

Embark on your pottery journey with our beginner potter wheel class! Whether you're completely new to pottery or have dabbled a bit in the past, this class is designed to introduce you to the fundamentals of throwing on the wheel.

Class Focus:

In this beginner-friendly class, we'll cover all the basics you need to get started in pottery, including:

  • Studio safety and etiquette

  • Introduction to throwing on the Wheel

  • Creating cylinders

  • Forming handles

  • Trimming techniques

  • Crafting bowls

  • Basic glazing

What to Expect:

Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, you'll learn the essential techniques of pottery making in a supportive and encouraging environment. Through hands-on practice and step-by-step instruction, you'll gain confidence and proficiency in working with clay on the wheel.

Class Structure:

Our classes are structured to provide a balance of instruction and practice, allowing you to learn at your own pace. Each session will include demonstrations, guided practice, and opportunities for feedback and questions to ensure that you're progressing effectively.

Materials and Equipment:

Must purchase clay and tools for class (See Studio Store). All classes include pottery wheels, studio tools (heat gun, extruder, slab roller) and glazes. Don’t forget to bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!

Event Policies

No Show, No Refunds:

If you fail to attend the event without prior notice, no refunds will be provided.

Ticket Transfers and Credits:

If you cancel your admission within 71 hours of the event, you will receive a 50% credit towards a future event. Admission can be transferred to another event if you notify us within 72 hours of the scheduled event.

Event Artwork Collection:

Pieces can take up to 4 weeks to complete the firing process. You will receive an email notification when your artwork is ready. Please collect your artwork within 30 days of receiving the notification.

Class Policies

Class Cancellation/ Rescheduling Policy:

If a class is cancelled between week 1 through week 4, we'll reschedule any missed classes. Students may need to attend another night for the makeup session. If a cancellation occurs between week 5 and week 8, students are encouraged to use the time for free throw practice, and no rescheduling will be offered.

Class Refunds:

No refunds are provided if a student fails to cancel their registration at least 3 days before the class starts. However, class admissions can be transferred to another session within one year of purchase.

Studio Policies

Dress Policy:

Wear clothing and shoes that can get dirty. Please bring a hair tie if you have long hair. Make sure your shoes are non-slip.

Firing Process Disclaimer:

While we take every precaution in the firing process, accidents can happen. In the event that your piece does not make it through the firing process, we will offer you a 50% discount on your next event.
