Our 6-week courses are a mix of never touched clay before beginners and experienced potters. All courses are hosted by experienced potters who will provide in-depth hands on instruction for beginners and coaching + support for experienced students.
Classes include 4 hours in the studio per week. 2 hours for instruction and 2 hours for open studio practice. Instruction time options are Monday – Thursday with start times of 4:30 and 6:00. Open Studio hours are Monday – Friday 10am – 2pm, 6:00-8:00pm along with Saturdays 9:00am – 12:00pm.
Why mix experienced potters and beginners?
The village is just that, a village! We strive to build a supportive and creative community. By having experienced potters and beginners side by side, it allows for knowledge sharing and community building.

How our Courses Work
If you are brand new to pottery, have no fear, the Village is here! You can expect to be taken through the steps from beginning to end. Your instruction will look like :
- Learning about pottery equipment + clay types
- Learn how to wedge, center and “pull” clay
- Learn the basics of wheel throwing + glazing
If you are an experienced Potter you will be able to pick between assigned project work or support on self selected projects. Our instructors will be available to answer questions, mentor and provide instruction on skills you want to advance in.
Students Will :
- Choose between creating their own work or create an instructor-guided project
- Work on Sets and Trimming
- Collaborate with other students and instructors
The studio will provide:
- Stoneware Clay for experienced + B clay for Beginners
- Multiple Tools + Support Accessories
- Full storage shelf and small locker for experienced
- Half storage shelf for intermediate
Students are more than welcome to bring their own tools and accessories. We ask that students always wear clothes they are comfortable getting dirty in and closed-toe non-slip shoes (non slip is not required but closed toed is!).
