Mixed Instruction

Our 6-week courses are a mix of never touched clay before beginners and experienced potters. All courses are hosted by experienced potters who will provide in-depth hands on instruction for beginners and coaching + support for experienced students.

Classes include 4 hours in the studio per week. 2 hours for instruction and 2 hours for open studio practice. Instruction time options are Monday – Thursday with start times of 4:30 and 6:00. Open Studio hours are Monday – Friday 10am – 2pm, 6:00-8:00pm along with Saturdays 9:00am – 12:00pm.

How our Courses Work

Beginners

If you are brand new to pottery, have no fear, the Village is here! You can expect to be taken through the steps from beginning to end. Your instruction will look like :

  • Learning about pottery equipment + clay types
  • Learn how to wedge, center and “pull” clay 
  • Learn the basics of wheel throwing + glazing

Experienced

If you are an experienced Potter you will be able to pick between assigned project work or support on self selected projects. Our instructors will be available to answer questions, mentor and provide instruction on skills you want to advance in.

Students Will :

  • Choose between creating their own work or create an instructor-guided project
  • Work on Sets and Trimming
  • Collaborate with other students and instructors

  • Stoneware Clay for experienced + B clay for Beginners
  • Multiple Tools + Support Accessories 
  • Aprons
  • Glaze
  • Firing
  • Full storage shelf and small locker for experienced
  • Half storage shelf for intermediate

Students are more than welcome to bring their own tools and accessories. We ask that students always wear clothes they are comfortable getting dirty in and closed-toe non-slip shoes (non slip is not required but closed toed is!).

Fall 2022 Class Times

Our 6 week courses are 4 hours of studio time per week. 2 hours of instruction and 2 hours of open studio practice. When you purchase your class you will select which instruction period you would like to sign up for. Students are able to vary their practice hours weekly.
